Melvin Xavier

Melvin Xavier has been involved in the freight forwarding industry almost all of his life. He grew up in his family freight business and has been working with them for 16 years now. As one of the Directors at Golden Cargo Services, he is responsible for overseeing and managing portfolio of key accounts across their offices in Dubai, Kuwait, Cochin, Malaysia and Singapore. During his time at GCS, he played a role on the development of their company with their turnovers tripling and revenues increasing by 125%. He is also the co-founder and director of a specialist freight network called Cold Chain Connect and regional network called Emerge Freight Alliance. CCC is a network committed to bringing together professionals that are passionate about Cold Chain Logistics – a network which is in line with his strength in the field of perishables, while Emerge is an alliance for forwarders who have a shared interest in Africa and the Middle East. He recently had the honor of completing his FIATA Diploma from NAFL. He also was voted as one of the Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs amongst Indians in the Middle East and North Africa Region and featured in the Super 100 Publication. He also runs training programs at the Local Freight Institute (National Association of Freight and Logistics).

From the heart of Europe, David was born and raised in beautiful Slovakia, where he graduated with a Master's degree from Digital marketing communication and advertising at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. He started gaining experience of business at a relatively young age 15, where his professional journey in the Music Industry started as DJ/Music Producer and Event Manager - naturally hand in hand with Marketing as Manager and Promoter for clubs/events.Later he started studying at University and at the same time he started his own marketing agency at that time providing service also for local and international companies/brands. After a few years he felt that he needed change from Creative Industry and after finishing his degree at University he started working in the Finance Industry as Sales Manager leading the sales team for one of biggest insurance companies and later for brokerage company to offer financial services to customers. Sales is in his blood, and there is no better feeling for him than closing deals. His clients are like his 2nd family, he treats and stands behind them, no matter what! David is ambitious and responsible person and with his skills and understanding specific needs of clients, building long term business relationships he is now part of X2 Group!

He started as part of the Export Documentation team of one of the well-known shipping companies in the industry. Driven by his goal for success and excellence, as a trainer and a subject matter expert, he was able to provide valuable contributions to the successful delivery and implementation of projects within the organization. Became part of a Freight Forwarding company in 2005 assigned to supervise and lead a team of young professionals in handling regional support activities in Asia Pacific and Australia. He is a dedicated professional trainer providing extensive training in customer service, leadership, and systems training. Overall, his extensive experience in customer service, leadership, training, project management and logistics made him the right person for his new role.
